Legitimate DVDs VS Bootleg DVDs
Bootlegged DVDs are impostors or fake discs sold illegally. The digital media industry is facing the pandemic of bootlegging today. It’s economically ruinous for the industry. The bootleg DVD market is flourishing in Asia, Hong Kong and the United States. Hong Kong is considered a bootleggers’ paradise.
Legitimate DVDs are legally produced original DVDs for sale. The filmmakers pay taxes and duties for the sale of these legitimate DVDs.
Bootleg DVDs are made with cheaper discs that greatly lure buyers, but they are not always cheaper in price. In fact, no sooner had James Camroon’s Titanic appeared in theaters, its pirated discs were already selling on the Internet, for as much as $100.
Bootleg DVDs are made of poor quality material and they are sold in poor packing. They carry fake logos and are not durable disks. These illegal discs do not have region coding and they are recorded on deep gold colored media instead of the lighter gold of an RSDL disc. They offer poor sound quality and highly disappointing picture quality. It’s commonly noticed that most bootleg DVDs are missing scenes. In most of the movies the opening and closing credits are missing. These inferior discs do not run smoothly and can even be harmful for dvd players.
On the contrary legitimate dvds are superior quality discs carrying the big brand names. These are fully guaranteed products offering excellent voice and picture quality. They stock complete movies with complete originality. They are durable, run smoothly and present no risk to your DVD player.
