you should know, BEFORE picking your dvd supplier..." |

Hello Friend,
I hope you have had time to begin researching and contacting some of
the suppliers. One of my favorite suppliers is VPD. It is an
important decision for you to pick a supplier that is going to be
best suited for your needs.
Here are some important things to consider when picking a supplier
for your business.
PRICE
1. Price is obviously an important consideration. One of the
biggest misconceptions to new sellers is that New Release DVD's are
available for only a few dollars each. This isn't the case, but you
should still shop around to make sure you are getting the best price
available.
INVENTORY LEVEL
2. Another important consideration is the inventory level of the
supplier. I like suppliers that make their inventory levels
available online. If a title is selling well, I want to know how
many more are available. The best suppliers will make this
information available to you.
PROCESSING TIME
3. I also like suppliers that ship my orders within 24 - 48 hours.
Believe it or not, there are some suppliers out there that will hold
your orders more than a week before shipping. If you are going to
make money, you need a steady stream of product. Be sure and ask
your suppliers what kind of turn around time they have for getting
your orders pulled and shipped.
SELECTION
4. I NEVER deal with suppliers that do not let you pick your titles.
There are some suppliers out there offering DVD's for less than $1
claiming you will get Hollywood's top actors and New Releases. Most
new buyers see dollar signs and jump at the opportunity to purchase
New Release DVD's for less than $1.
Usually these suppliers will make you buy 100 or more DVD's. The
catch is you don't get to pick the titles. You'll wind up with 1 new
release and 99 movies you never heard of. NEVER buy movies if you
can't pick the titles. I learned this one the hard way.
PERSONAL COLLECTIONS
5. It can take a few weeks to get setup with a good supplier, so what do you do in the mean time? A really great source of previously viewed DVD's is Ebay. If you
click the banner below, you'll find hundreds of
sellers offering their personal collections for auction. I like buying collections with at least 50 DVD's, and I never pay
more than $3 - $5 a piece. There are a lot of
competing bids, so don't be surprised if you have to bid on several
auctions before you are the high bidder.
You should also be careful who you purchase from. Make sure the seller has a good feedback rating and lists all the titles you will be getting. If the seller doesn't take the time to list the dvd's in his collection, chances are they weren't worth mentioning.
