Make the Most of Each DVD Customer

When you sell a DVD to a winning bidder on eBay, how do you view that customer? Do you think of them as a one-time transaction? Are they nothing more than an order to fulfill? When it comes down to it, each and every one of your DVD customers is a valuable asset, and if you're not making the most of these assets you're throwing money out the window.

The first time you deal with a customer should never be the last time. In fact, you should make it a priority to do as much business as you can with every customer you serve. After all, a customer who buys ten or twenty DVDs will generate more revenue than a customer who only buys one.

One of the best ways of attracting repeat business is with a monthly newsletter. Each and every month, send all of your customers a newsletter chock full of interesting entertainment facts, news and trivia. At the end of each newsletter, offer a coupon or promotion. A ten-percent off coupon is an excellent way of getting your customers to check what titles you have available for sale.

Another way of getting customers to repeatedly buy from you is by offering loyalty bucks. For each DVD your customers buy, offer them one loyalty buck. Then, email out a catalog each month or every three months with DVD titles they can purchase with their loyalty bucks.

You'll be able to set the pricing for how many loyalty bucks each title will cost, so if you were to set the cost of a DVD in the catalog at 15 loyalty bucks, the customer would have had to have bought 15 DVDs from you in order to have earned enough loyalty bucks to buy that DVD. To keep things running smoothly, you'll want to incorporate an expiration date of one year for the loyalty bucks your customers earn.

In addition to offering your customers incentives and promotions, you should probably have a website other than eBay for your customers to go to when they want to buy DVDs from you. While eBay is a great way of earning new customers, it is often a good idea to start moving the business from your eBay customers over to your very own online DVD store. This will help with the overall bottom line and creates a more professional image for your DVD business.
