Hi Friend,
An important consideration is how much are you going to charge for shipping, and how are you going to ship your items. I experimented with several approaches and methods before finding what worked best for my business.
I'm interested in selling a lot of product and don't have time to figure different shipping prices for everyone. Instead, I charge flat rate shipping depending on the country of the buyer.
Here are the current shipping charges I have in place.
United States - $3.00 for one dvd and $2 each additional
Canada - $5 for one dvd and $2 each additional
All Other Countries - $7 for one dvd and $2 each additional
I've found the best shipping carrier for DVDs is the United States Postal Service. DVDs are to light to consider another carrier such as UPS or Fed Ex. These companies have a minimum charge of around $4.
The United States Postal Service will ship a dvd airmail to the United States for only $1.59 - $1.89 depending on your zip code. This means you can profit an extra $1.40 on the Shipping and Handling to cover eBay fees and other expenses.
To qualify for this rate, you'll need to ship your item in a bubble envelope to keep your package light. I recommend a #1 Bubble Mailer that you can purchase on eBay. Just use the links below to find the best deals on these items for other eBay sellers.
Good luck with your business. If you have any questions, you can
